Kayla can’t wait to see you at your upcoming appointment! Below you will find helpful information & instructions on how to best prepare for the various services offered, as well as aftercare instructions to maintain your results!
- Please arrive with clean lashes, this means ditch the makeup that morning, or arrive early to wash your eyes/face thoroughly.
- Avoid caffeine before your appointment, twitchy eyes and restless bodies will make this tedious process difficult for your lash artist to complete.
- Make sure to use the restroom beforehand, lash appointments take 1-3+ hours to complete. (of course we can always take a break if you’re in need!)
- Certain medications or medical conditions my affect your retention, please let your lash artist know if you experience hair loss, have any eye health conditions, or allergies.
- Make sure to wash your lashes daily with a lash safe foaming cleanser.
- Comb them with a clean mascara wand when they are dry, daily, as needed.
- Refrain from touching or picking at your extensions as this can cause them to fall out prematurely, and can potentially damage your natural lashes.
- Make sure to pre book lash fills every 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes healthy and full.
- Never use a lash curler on your extensions and avoid using mascara on them.
- Certain activities such as exercise, swimming, hot yoga (excessive sweating) etc. may affect your retention.
- Use of creamy eye makeup and concealers or waterproof eyeliners may affect your retention if not cleansed properly.
*If you continue to come to your lash fills with less than 40% retention we may need to explore other lash enhancements that will work better with your lifestyle.
- Arrive with clean lashes/ brows or arrive early to cleanse your face.
- Its recommended to shower/ wash your hair & face before the appointment so you can follow the aftercare of minimizing exposure to water/heat &steam.
- Do not expose your lashes or brows to excessive steam or hot water for a minimum of 24 hours after your service.
- Do not use any makeup, mascara, makeup removers, face wash, lotions etc on your lashes or brows for a minimum of 24 hours after your service.
- To avoid irritation, do not excessively touch your lashes or brows for the first 24-48 hours
- Chlorine and certain skincare products will shorten the effects of the perm & tint
- Try to sleep on your back for the first 2 nights after your service, and avoid sleeping on your side or face as this could affect the shape of your brows and lashes.
- Minimize the use of waterproof mascara as it is difficult to remove and can often damage natural lashes (ex. excessive rubbing/picking it off)
- Using Elleeplex oil on the lashes and brows daily is recommended to ensure the longevity of your lift or lamination. This product is available for purchase.
- Let your hair grow out! 1-2 weeks for facial hair and 3-4 weeks of body hair growth will ensure that you will get optimal, smooth results!
- Its okay to have extra long hair, but If you choose to trim please make sure to trim evenly and do not take off too much! We need the hair to be at least 3/4 of an inch to wax, similar to the length of a grain of rice, or easy enough to “pinch”.
- Taking OTC medications such as Advil or Tylenol 30 min before your wax may help ease discomfort, but please check with your physician before consuming any medication.
- Shower and gently exfoliate at least 24 hours before your wax appointment to ensure that your hair and skin are prepped for an effortless wax!
- On your period? Its totally okay to get a Brazilian as long as you wear a tampon or cup!
- For body waxing, wear loose fitting, breathable underwear/ pants to your appointment.
- Facial Waxing Contraindications- no facial waxing services can be preformed if you are on accutane or using Retin-A or any other prescribed topical/ oral skin treatment. Please let your esthetician know if you have any questions or concerns.
-Avoid excessively touching, exfoliating, using fragranced or heavy lotions/products, exercise or any activity that may cause unnecessary friction or sweat in your freshly waxed areas for at least 24 hours after the wax.
-Avoid tanning, saunas, steam rooms & swimming in pools, hot tubs, lakes, rivers or oceans for 24-48 hours after being waxed. Chlorine, salt water, or excessive sun can cause bumps, irritation or breakouts on skin that has been freshly waxed and can cause discomfort or bacterial infections.
-After at least 2 days, start exfoliating 2-3 times per week to ensure ingrown hairs stay away, always keep the skin hydrated.
-For the best waxing results, make sure to stay consistent and DO NOT shave or tweeze in-between waxes!
-Pre booking will help you stay on track, and keep your hair growth on the same cycle!
